Chicago
Guy and I were able to go to Chicago
for the first time just the two of us.
We took the train from St. Louis to Chicago.
The double decker tour bus is a must to
see and hear about all the sights of Chicago.
There were several impressive buildings
but here are my 2 favorites.
This past year we became interested in 'The Apprentice' so I thought Morgan would be interested in seeing the Trump Tower.
It was a great trip. Would love to go back!

Morgan's Vocal Competition
Morgan was in a vocal competition in Branson, MO.
My uncle Mike is very active in these competitions and asked if she would like to participate. Being Morgan's dream to become a famous singer/actor she jumped at the chance!
Morgan sang 'This is the Stuff'
The whole group singing 'We Are the World' on awards day.
We did not anticipate Morgan winning anything since this was her 1st time competing, but she ended up winning the
'World Changing' award.
It was very exciting.
Morgan with Uncle Mike.
Thanks Mike for including, encouraging and supporting Morgan. She had a great time and can't wait to do it again!

Summer Trips
We have taken a couple of trips this summer. We went to Ponca, Arkansas and stayed in the President's Cabin and did some different things while we were there.
We stayed at the Buffalo Outdoor Center. They have several cabins around the town of Ponca.
This was the view out the front of the cabin.
We went on a hike. This was right up Brody's alley....lots of rocks!
This was just a few of the rocks Brody tried to carry the whole hike!
They had a couple of caves in Ponca that we explored.
This is Morgan in front of what they call the Wedding Cake.
We also went to the river. Also right up Brody's alley.
All the rocks were overwhelming!
We went on an hour horseback ride. I am sooo glad that I did not choose the 2 hour ride. By the time we were done my left foot was asleep and my right knee was throbbing. I was getting concerned that I wasn't going to be able to get off! It was a really cool experience though. Brody didn't say a word the whole time. He was very enthralled with it all.
The hot tub was a crowd pleaser too!
The not such a highlight of the trip was the critter that decided to join us in the cabin. Guy and Brody set a mouse trap and caught him as well as his brother the next day. Ugh! Brody found it exciting though. He couldn't wait till the next morning to check the trap.
Over all a good trip
We also went to Tulsa/Cleveland Oklahoma and spent the weekend with my aunt and uncle and my cousin and her family.
We went to the Tulsa Zoo.
We saw the Tulsa Drillers vs Springfield Cardinals game.
Cardinals lost but it was still a good game.
We went out on a pontoon and tubed and swam.
(they both look a bit in pain but I promise they had fun!)
It was a fun weekend!
